ALS Awareness Month 2017

pals collage

May is ALS Awareness Month, and we here at the Brigance Brigade Foundation like to take full advantage to shine a spotlight on a disease many people do not understand. May is a wonderful opportunity for all those working to support people battling ALS to raise awareness for the disease and cultivate an understanding and compassion for those fighting it each and every day.

Close your eyes and take a moment to think about it…what would you do if you woke up tomorrow and could not walk, talk, move, breathe or eat on your own? Who would take care of you? Would you be able to work? Would you be able to leave your home? What happens to your breathing machine when the power goes out? How much would your survival cost?

These are the problems the Brigance Brigade Foundation hears about every day because of ALS.

May is our time to foster support for individuals with the disease, as well as those family, friends and community members affected by its impact. Become an ALS advocate this May and help members of our community who are trapped inside of their own bodies. Help us realize a world where people with ALS thrive with purpose and passion.

Here’s how to get involved:

— Donate: Visit our donate page to see how your donation will directly affect a person battling ALS. Donations starting as low as $10 make a huge difference in the life of someone diagnosed.

— Educate: Visit our resources page to learn more about ALS and talk to your friends and family about the disease. Spreading awareness goes a long way!

— Attend: Check out our list of wonderful ALS Awareness Month events below and register to attend them! We’ve got everything from fitness to football to food..

Host: We have some fabulous friends who support our ALS families by hosting an event to benefit the mission of the Brigance Brigade Foundation. Our friends at Ainsley & Co are generously hosting a party for their clients and prospective clients in June, and proceeds will support the Brigance Brigade Foundation. Their goal is $5,700 raised in honor of O.J. – awesome! The wonderful Birmy’s Bunch family team is hosting a raffle this month to raise funds for other ALS families. Thanks, team – we really appreciate you.

…Will you join Team Brigance Brigade? We’d be honored to have you. Contact us with your ideas! 410-878-2030 or
