Local veteran Justin Coulter will host the second annual “ALS Dance for the Cure: Skydiving Edition” on Saturday, September 21 at 10 a.m. at the Harford County Airport in Churchville, Md. Coulter, a Marine and member of the Aberdeen volunteer fire department, will host the fundraiser to help educate the general public about ALS.
The “ALS Dance for Cure: Skydiving Edition” will feature a performance by No Pro Bono, as well as a live auction and raffles to raise money for the Brigance Brigade Foundation. This year, the new skydiving portion to the fundraiser will feature 70 participants tandem jumping from a plane and landing next to the “Drop Zone,” the main stage for the concert.
Last year, Coulter was inspired to host the first-ever “ALS Dance for the Cure” by his father’s diagnosis with ALS. After an 11-month battle with the disease, Coulter’s father, Donald Bay Coulter, Jr. passed away on May 21, 2013. This year’s fundraiser will be dedicated in memory of Donald, who was also a veteran and a well-known member of the Aberdeen community from his years as a Pop Warner football coach.
