O.J. and Chanda Brigance Attend the Ice Bucket Challenge Hosted by State Senator Joe Getty
On Saturday, September 20, O.J. and Chanda Brigance attended the ice bucket challenge hosted by State Senator Joe Getty at the Hampstead Farmer’s Market. The Brigance Brigade Foundation offered free Brigance Brigade t-shirts to individuals who made donations to support research efforts to find a cure for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
Getty, whose father died of ALS, took the ice bucket challenge along with local officials, including Del. Justin Ready, Carroll County Commissioner Haven Shoemaker, commissioner candidate Richard Weaver and Carroll County Sheriff candidate Jim DeWees.
Senator Getty also attended the Hampstead Town Council meeting and personally offered an ice bucket challenge to Mayor Christopher Nevin and members of the Hampstead Town Council. The contributions collected raised close to $2,000 for the Brigance Brigade Foundation.
